Just had your ear wax removal appointment and looking for some tips and tricks?

Ear Wax Removal Aftercare Advice

I HAD IRRIGATION, WHAT AFTERCARE DO I NEED?

Following gentle warm water irrigation to clear your ear wax it is important to keep your ear canals dry to reduce the risk of infection from water-borne bacteria. The irrigation process can slightly dry the canals and strip the area of some of the natural oils secreted from inside the ear. The natural oils should return to normal levels after a few days with no other aftercare needed.

I HAD MICROSUCTION, WHAT AFTERCARE DO I NEED?

After Microsuction there is no need to keep ears dry as the natural oil levels have not been affected, no other precautions or aftercare is needed.

SORE EARS FOLLOWING WAX REMOVAL
This is extremely rare, however, if you have had a large amount of wax removed, then this soreness may just be due to the canals remaining very sensitive. This discomfort should only last a day or so, and can be resolved using over the counter pain killers. If the pain continues or is moderate to severe, we suggest a GP appointment to rule out an ear infection
